Q: Does the Kronos Performing Arts Association accept charitable donations?

A: As a non-profit charitable organization, Kronos relies on financial contributions from individuals, foundations, corporations and, government agencies. Click here to find out how you can donate.

Q: Do you accept unsolicited compositions?

A: Kronos does accept unsolicited compositions, but note that any material submitted will not be returned. Although scores are acceptable, recordings are much preferred. Please send your package here:

Q: Can I get sheet music for [any number of pieces]?

A: Through the publisher Boosey and Hawkes, we have released the Kronos Collection Vol. 1. This collection includes scores and performance parts to:

Terry Riley - Sunrise of the Planetary Dream Collector
Hamza El Din - Escalay (Water Wheel)
Aleksandra Vrebalov - Pannonia Boundless

If you're trying to track down music to a piece besides these three works, please contact the publisher of the piece you're interested in for scores and parts. We do not send out copies of music in our library.

Q: Where can I find the publisher?

A: If you have a recording, check the CD booklet or the face of the CD itself, as the publisher should be listed. You can try searching the ASCAP and BMI databases for contact information.

Q: Has Kronos recorded Sun Rings by Terry Riley?

A: Kronos would love to record Sun Rings; however, a recording has not yet been scheduled. If it is released, we will send out an announcement to our e-mail list.

Q: What is that Icelandic song I heard in concert?


A: This is Flugufrelsarinn (The Fly Freer) by the Icelandic rock band Sigur Rós, arranged for Kronos by Stephen Prutsman. It is available digitally from Nonesuch and iTunes.

Q: Have you recorded Awakening: A Musical Meditation on the Anniversary of 9/11?

A: No full recording of Awakening has been made available, but many of the pieces on the program appear on different albums. Oh Mother, the Handsome Man Tortures Me, Lullaby, and Alap from Raga Mishra Bhairavi appear on Floodplain. John Oswald’s Spectre is available on Short Stories and Aulis Sallinen’s Winter Was Hard is available on the album Winter Was Hard. We will let everyone on our email list know if any other pieces from Awakening are released.

Q: Can you tell me more about your collaboration with Frank Zappa?

A: In 1984 Frank Zappa wrote a piece titled None of the Above for Kronos, but it has not been recorded. There are no plans to record any of Frank Zappa's works at this time.

Q: Can you tell me more about your collaboration with Mike Patton and Mr. Bungle?

A: Mr. Bungle wrote a piece for Kronos, but it has not been recorded.
