Kronos Quartet’s ongoing residency at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center includes working closely with composition students in the UMD School of Music.
For the fourth consecutive year, Kronos Quartet will partner with School of Music composition students to write new works for string quartet, mentoring the students through the composition process. Kronos will perform the completed compositions in a free public performance.

Philip Glass' String Quartet No. 6 premiered at the Chan Centre in Vancouver (Oct 19), followed by performances at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, NV (Oct 21), and Clarice Smith Center in College Park, MD (Oct 24).
