KRONOS PRESENTS: Terry Riley Festival

Salome Dances for Peace

The Terry Riley Festival concludes with a rare treat—Riley’s epic string quartet, Salome Dances for Peace, performed in its entirely by Kronos for the first time in 20 years. Commissioned by Kronos, the monumental two-hour work re-imagines the mythical figure of Salome as a sorceress dancing for world piece, and represents some of Riley’s most sophisticated, stylistically eclectic and expansive writing.

Kronos dedicates this performance of Salome Dances for Peace to the memory of Judithe Bizot.
