Fifty for the Future — Year Two!

With the new year comes a new batch of Kronos’ Fifty for the Future composers and partners!

Kronos Performing Arts Association (KPAA) is excited to announce the 10 composers—five women and five men—who will be participating in Year Two of Kronos’ Fifty for the Future project. Please welcome this eclectic group to the program as they join us in our mission to expand the 21st-century string quartet repertoire for young players.

Laurie Anderson (USA)
Raven Chacon (Navajo Nation/USA)
Guillermo Galindo (Mexico/USA)
Philip Glass (USA)
Aleksander Kościów (Poland)
Nicole Lizée (Canada)
Anna Meredith (United Kingdom)
Kala Ramnath (India/USA)
Karin Rehnqvist (Sweden)
Trey Spruance (USA)

These ten composers will join the Year One artists in creating new works, which Kronos will then premiere around the world. In addition, KPAA will provide companion materials for each piece, including scores, parts, recordings, videos, performance notes, and composer interviews, all of which will be distributed online and made available at no charge.

We would also like to welcome the following presenters as they join our growing list of Fifty for the Future Legacy Partners and Commissioning Partners:

LEGACY PARTNERS
Center for the Art of Performance at UCLA
The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College, SUNY
Texas Performing Arts Association at the University of Texas at Austin

COMMISSIONING PARTNERS

Kronos’ Fifty for the Future is also made possible by support from the National Endowment for the Arts, Barbro Osher Pro Suecia Foundation, and several generous individuals.
