VSO Announces New Music Festival 2016 featuring Kronos Quartet!

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, a partner in Kronos’ Fifty for the Future project, announced its 3rd annual New Music Festival today, set to take place over four days (February 25–28) at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver. Dedicated to showcasing works by contemporary composers, this year’s festival welcomes Kronos Quartet as featured artist, as the group performs in both a solo concert and a concert with the orchestra. Kronos on tour in the UK in May!

Kronos has announced its first UK tour for several years in May. The group will perform in London, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester and other locations with a program that includes Terry Riley’s One Earth, One People, One Love; the world premiere of a new piece by Martin Green of Lau; works by Laurie Anderson and Komitas; and arrangements including The Who’s Baba O’Riley.
