More Monterey Jazz Festival: check out this nice interview with Billy Childs. We’re heading down to Monterey tomorrow to rehearse with the Billy Childs Quartet, and we join them for the world premiere of “Music for Two Quartets” on Saturday night!

We’re excited to play at Monterey Jazz Festival this weekend! On Saturday Kronos is doing a world premiere with Billy Childs Quartet at 8 PM, plus with a solo set at 10:30 PM featuring works by Maria Schneider and Bryce Dessner. Hear David talk about both programs!

New Album - Rainbow: Music of Central Asia Vol. 8
We're excited to announce that our new CD/DVD Rainbow: Music of Central Asia Vol. 8 is out now on Smithsonian Folkways. Kronos is joined by Homayun Sakhi, a master of the rubâb (Afghan lute) and the Azerbaijani father-daughter singing duo Alim and Fargana Qasimov, along with their respective ensembles.
