Celebrating 30 years of musical friendship

David Harrington, artistic director, founder, and violinist of Kronos Quartet, writes –

“Kronos is very happy to help celebrate Bob Hurwitz’s years of leadership at Nonesuch Records. On April 1 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, we perform in a large concert honoring his legacy that features many other Nonesuch musicians, including Caetano Veloso, k.d. lang and Natalie Merchant, to name a few.

“Bob has helped shape and encourage our world of music like no other person. Our Nonesuch recordings not only tell something of the story of Kronos’ interests and history, but also something of our relationship with Bob. His large vision for what music can be has inspired and continues to inspire our work. Bob introduced us to the music of Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Paredes and John Zorn. Thanks for more than 30 years of musical friendship Bob. You are the greatest!”

Since releasing Kronos Quartet’s self-titled album on Nonesuch in 1986, Bob has executive produced nearly 50 Kronos albums. Learn more about the concert and Bob >
