Kronos receives NEA support to distribute free string quartets

Kronos Performing Arts Association and Kronos Quartet are honored to announce that we have received an Art Works’ Media Arts grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support our ongoing efforts to provide open access to contemporary string quartet scores and parts, recordings, and other instructional and study materials, online and free of charge through Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire.

The NEA is the only funder in the United States to support arts activities in all 50 states and five U.S. jurisdictions. Today, the independent federal agency announced its second round of funding for FY 2017. This funding round includes partnerships with state, jurisdictional, and regional arts agencies. The NEA is distributing 1,195 grants that total $82.06 million to support organizations that employ artists and cultural workers to provide programs for thousands of people across the country.
