Folk Songs: “as magnificent as you might expect”

We are grateful for the warm reception that our new album Folk Songs has received. Read a few review highlights below:

“As magnificent as you might expect… Folk and classical traditions can seldom have come together so gloriously”
Five (out of five) star review in Songlines

“A game-changer, Folk Songs deserves a genre Grammy.”
Five (out of five) star review in fRoots, which also named it ‘Album of the Month’

“What’s not to love here? … The charm of this is absolute.”
Four (out of four) star review in The Buffalo News

“A smart and emotionally effective exploration of the folk tradition that respects musical history without being chained to it.”
Four (out of five) star review on AllMusic

There was also a wonderful feature in yesterday’s Sydney Morning Herald:

“I think Kronos, we feel like we are continually students. Whether we are studying with Henryk Gorecki, Terry Riley or Peter Sculthorpe,” [Kronos’ David] Harrington says. “I find that the musicians I’m most anxious to work with feel the same way. I think musicians are always trying to learn new things and expand their vocabulary. Or that’s what we want to do.”
