Ladilikan wins 2018 Songlines Music Award

Kronos to receive two grants from the NEA

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the NEA’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement are two Art Works grants totaling $60,000 to the Kronos Performing Arts Association for Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire, our education and legacy project that is commissioning – and distributing for free – the first learning library of contemporary repertoire for string quartet. The Art Works category is the NEA’s largest funding category and supports projects that focus on the creation of art that meets the highest standards of excellence, public engagement with diverse and excellent art, lifelong learning in the arts, and/or the strengthening of communities through the arts. How to participate in tonight’s performance of “Missa Supratext”

Tonight’s program features the world premiere of Aleksandra Vrebalov’s Missa Supratext, performed with the San Francisco Girls Chorus and festival artist-in-residence David Coulter. Aleksandra invites you to participate in her piece by bringing bells, chimes, singing bowls – anything that rings pleasantly. More instructions will be given before the piece begins.
