The Music of David Bowie - Livestream

Tomorrow evening, Kronos joins Jherek Bischoff, Amanda Palmer, Anna Calvi, and dozens of other musicians to perform The Music of David Bowie at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. For those of you who can’t be there, you can still watch the show via livestream, courtesy of the Melodic Caring Project​!

David Bowie Tribute at Radio City Music Hall

For the 12th concert in Michael Dorf’s “Music of” series, Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall each host a night of The Music of David Bowie, which will raise funds for music education programs serving underprivileged kids. Kronos is honored to be part of the April 1 lineup at Radio City, where the group will share the stage with Jherek Bischoff, Amanda Palmer, and Anna Calvi, along with dozens of other artists who all come together to perform the songbook and celebrate the legacy of the late David Bowie. Requiem for a Dream Vinyl Release

In honor of Record Store Day (April 16, 2016)—the international celebration of brick-and-mortar record retailers—Nonesuch Records will reissue, for the first time on vinyl, one of Kronos’ best-selling recordings. Released in 2000, Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream features Kronos in Clint Mansell’s original soundtrack, which has since become a well-loved classic in the group’s catalog.

Fifty for the Future — Year Two!

With the new year comes a new batch of Kronos’ Fifty for the Future composers and partners!

Kronos Performing Arts Association (KPAA) is excited to announce the 10 composers—five women and five men—who will be participating in Year Two of Kronos’ Fifty for the Future project. Please welcome this eclectic group to the program as they join us in our mission to expand the 21st-century string quartet repertoire for young players.
