Kronos Music: The Future is Now

Kronos and student musicians from the San Francisco Unified School District, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and Oakland School for the Arts perform works from 50 For the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire

Free and open to the public; first come, first served. Tickets available on the day of the event from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Box Office beginning at 6:30PM. Doors open at 7:00PM.

This annual event brings together students from the San Francisco Unified School District, musicians from San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Conservatory in the Schools program and Kronos. A student quartet from Oakland School for the Arts joins for the first time this year. They will all perform works selected from 50 for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire, an education and legacy project that is commissioning—and distributing online for free—50 new works for string quartet that are composed by 25 women and 25 men from around the world and designed expressly for the training of students and emerging professionals. This concert is the culmination of hours of coaching sessions between the middle and high school students and Kronos and SFCM student mentors.

Co-presented by KRONOS PRESENTS, a program of the Kronos Performing Arts Association, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Kronos Music: The Future is Now is made possible in part by Andrea Lunsford and our other generous donors.
