Venue: San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
Presenter: Center for Justice and Accountability
Kronos performs a special program alongside visual artist Kevork Mourad for the Center for Justice and Accountability‘s 25th Anniversary Gala. The Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA) has spent a quarter century dedicated to seeking truth, justice, and redress for war crimes, crimes against humanity, torture, and other atrocities around the world through litigation, transitional justice initiatives, and advocacy. CJA pursues international justice from the ground up, working in solidarity and partnership with victims, survivors, and their communities.
The program on April 4 will celebrate 25 years of “bringing human rights abusers to justice,” and will honor the winners of CJA’s 2023 human rights awards.
Kevork Mourad is an Armenian artist from Syria whose animated and live visuals have been performed in venues around the world, including the Korea National Opera, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the ElbPhilharmonie, the MuCEM, Lincoln Center, and the Spoleto Festival. He has been a member of the Silkroad ensemble for two decades and is featured in the documentary The Music of Strangers. His film Four Acts for Syria has been shown in festivals around the world.
