50 for the future

In 2015, Kronos launched 50 for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire, an education and legacy project that is commissioning—and distributing online for free—50 new works for string quartet designed expressly for the training of students and emerging professionals. You can begin learning compositions by 25 women and 25 men from around the world, like Rhiannon Giddens, Philip Glass, Wu Man, and Trio Da Kali’s Fodé Lassana Diabaté. Explore scores and parts, recordings, and other materials today.

Kronos has commissioned more than 1,000 new works and arrangements since the quartet was founded in 1973.

Since its earliest days, Kronos has been committed to mentoring emerging performers and composers.
