Concert IX: Enthusiasm Strategies
Grote Zaal / 2:00 – 3:00PM
Attacca Quartet will play works by Angélica Negrón and Paul Wiancko.
Ragazze Quartet will play works by Missy Mazzolli and Tanya Tagaq.
Matangi Quartet will play works by Vladimir Martynov and Stephan Thelen.
The work of six composers that filled their music with uplifting joy, is clearly reflected in the music.

 

Concert X: Where Home Resonates
BIMHUIS / 3:30 – 4:15PM
Ruysdael Kwartet will play works by Raven Chacon and Kala Ramnath.
Belinfante Quartet will play works by Soo Yeon Lyuh and Ken Benshoof.
These four composers listened to the sounds of their homeland or its age-old traditions to develop their works.

 

Talk 4: A roundtable discussion about the new direction of culture and music (in English)
Kleine Zaal / 3:30 – 4:30PM
Today’s world is complex and multifaceted. There is no longer one story to tell: more attention is being paid to seldom heard voices and traditions. In this conversation, four cultural leaders discuss what is needed to achieve a more inclusive balance.

Speakers are Sahand Sahebdivani (storytelling center Mezrab, ethno-fusion musician), Jörgen Tjon a Fong (director of De Kleine Komedie, playwright), Claron McFadden, (soprano, musical theater maker, spokesperson for inclusion in the classical music world) and Andrew Yee (Cellist for Attacca Quartet).

Concert XI: The New World
Grote Zaal / 4:45 – 5:30PM
Ragazze Quartet will play works by Nicole Lizée and Philip Glass.
Ruysdael Kwartet will play works by Laurie Anderson.
ADAM Quartet will play works by Barry Guy.
Four works from North America, some by well known elders and one by a young soul who embraces the modern age like no other.

ATTENTION: Parallel programming will take place throughout Kronos’ 50 for the Future Weekend, divided over the Grote Zaal, the Kleine Zaal, the Atriumzaal and the BIMHUIS. Each hall has a different capacity, some of them limited, so make sure you arrive on time at the event of your choice.
