Concert IV: Frameworks

Attacca Quartet will play works by Zakir Hussain and Sky Macklay.
Ragazze Quartet will play works by Garth Knox and Bryce Dessner.
Frameworks focuses on the structures, textures and motifs of four composers, each with their own unique timbre.

Atriumzaal / 7:30 – 8:30pm
Student composers from the Amsterdam, Den Haag and Utrecht conservatories will meet the Kronos 50 for the Future composers who are present and will take part in a series of speed dates with the composers, sharing their own compositions for the first time.
Talk 2: Composers in conversation (in English) – Mixing musical backgrounds
Kleine Zaal / 7:30 – 8:30pm
During Kronos’ 50 for the Future Weekend you will familiarize yourself with the work of fifty composers from around the globe. A number of these composers will travel to Amsterdam for this weekend. During this panel discussion number of composers will dialogue about their work.
Concert V: Where Home Resonates
Grote Zaal / 9:00 – 10:00pm
PUBLIQuartet will play works by Susie Ibarra, Fodé Lassana Diabaté and Rhiannon Giddens.
Signum Quartett will play works by Lu Yun, Wu Man and Angélique Kidjo.
“Where Home Resonates” is the theme of this program where the composer’s home resonates and is reflected in their work.
Concert VI & Afterparty
BIMHUIS / 10:00pm – close, afterparty with Jlin
ADAM Quartet will play works by Franghiz Ali-Zadeh.
Animato Kwartet will play works by Mario Galeano Toro.
Signum Quartett will play works by Tod Machover.
PUBLIQuartet will play works by Jlin.

String quartets and clubbing are rarely associated together, yet this Saturday night the beats will take over for a night full of dancing in BIMHUIS.
ATTENTION: Parallel programming will take place throughout Kronos’ 50 for the Future Weekend, divided over the Grote Zaal, the Kleine Zaal, the Atriumzaal and the BIMHUIS. Each hall has a different capacity, some of them limited, so make sure you arrive on time at the event of your choice.
