Today, the Kronos Quartet and Kronos Performing Arts Association wish composer Terry Riley a happy 85th birthday! Kronos first met Riley a little over 40 years ago when both were at Mills College in Oakland. To celebrate a musical friendship that has led to nearly 30 works of music, each member of Kronos is sharing an excerpt of one of their favorite works:
